PBS loses second election petition

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah lost its second election petition after its Lumadan candidate Yusof Judin joined Umno yesterday.

Yusof announced that he was withdrawing his election petition against Lumadan assemblywoman Sarinum Sadikun, the state election officer and returning officer.

He said he now fully supported Umno.

He said that 14 other PBS candidates had filed petitions in the High Court against Barisan Nasional winners by challenging the outcome of the March 12-13 state elections.

PBS lost the first petition last week when the suit filed by defeated Chong Ket Wah against Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Tham Nyip Shen for the Elopura seat was struck out on a technicality by the High Court here.
