An appeal to UMNO/MCA/MIC/BN supporters.
"If Prophet Mohamad were to be in Malaysia today, do you think he would support Mahathir?".
Dear Friends, I know you are all diehard supporters of the BN government. This letter is my humble appeal to your conscience to reconsider your unquestioning loyalty to Mahathir's government. If you belief in God and in the hereafter then what I write will be relevant and meaningful to you. However, if you are adamant about your support for BN , then go ahead. But please take a moment, read through this entire letter and ponder over it for a while. Before any educated man or woman takes a stand ( to support or reject BN) he or she must make a serious attempt to seek out information (other than what is dished out on TV, Berita Harian, Utusan Malaysia, The New Straits Times, The Sun and the Star). If need, be go out of your way to find alternative information. It is only after one has obtained all the relevant facts, can he or she honestly say he has come to a correct decision. Have you sought out these facts or are you supporting BN out of an emotional attachment to the party?You will most probably say that it is BN which is capable of bringing about stability in the country. If you still think UMNO is the defender and protector of your race, think again. Consider this. What kind of stability could you hope to have when your BN leaders are incorrigibly corrupt? What kind of stability can you expect to find when the police behave like pirates and judges act like stooges? What kind of stability can you have when one man, the PM, stands above the judiciary, legislature, the executive and the even the monarchy? That stability, my friend, if at all exists, is an illusion. If we think only about our own comfort, our own families and do not care less as to what is happening around us then we have failed miserable as thinking human beings. We have failed as responsible citizens and responsible believers in the Almighty God. To many Malaysians, all that matters are their bank accounts and food in the kitchens. They are satisfied as long as they can live in peace. "My neighbours problem is not my problem". If the misfortune that had befallen Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI), Lim Guan Eng (LGE) and their families do not bother you, then ask yourself if your religion teaches you that justice is irrelevant? If DSAI is your brother will you still support BN? If you happen to be DSAI's wife , will you still support BN? If LGE was your uncle will you still support BN? If your 15 year-old- daughter is raped by an UMNO man and Mahathir protects him, will you still support BN? One day, your own daughter might be raped by an UMNO big gun and I can assure you, not a single UMNO member will come to help you. (UMNO did not help Puan Pendek when she went to them for help. It was LGE, a Chinese who did). There are many of us who will not care a damn as to what happens to others until a member of your own family is involved in a misfortune. There might come a day when your brother or husband will be beaten up by the police or even killed and not one UMNO man will come to your help. (They did not care about DSAI so do you think they will bother about you?) Now, friend, put yourself into DSAI or LGE's shoes. Look into your conscience and say honestly if you should still continue to support Mahathir and his party. Do not wait till that misfortune happens to you before you reject BN! Many Ulamaks and intellectuals like Dato Harun Din, Datuk Ismail Kamus, Datuk Ishak Baharom, Dr Badrul Amin and Dato Hassan Ali, Chandra Muzzafar and Datuk Shannon Ahmad have joined the opposition parties. If such learned people have decided to reject BN, why must you continue to support it? To my Chinese friends- if you want the economy to pick up, you have to reject Mahathir and BN and vote for Barisan Alternatif. To my Indian brothers- if you want the Indian community to progress, then reject Mahathir and Samy Vellu and vote for Barisan Alternatif. To my Malay friends- If Prophet Mohamad were to be in Malaysia today, do you think he would support Mahathir?. If your answer is 'No' then why stick with UMNO. Malayians, if you love your country then reject Mahathir, UMNO, BN and all their cronies.
