Dapsy slams MDP over call to revoke printing permit
PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Democratic Party (MDP) is merely serving the Barisan Nasional's agenda in appealing for the Government to revoke DAP's printing permit for The Rocket.
DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) secretary Ronnie Liu said yesterday that none of the Barisan component members had ever made such a call.
"Barisan component members knew that this would be tantamount to suppressing the DAP's voice," he said, adding that the DAP was merely making its opinion known in its own media.
Liu was responding to a statement by MDP pro tem secretary-general Wee Choo Keong who urged the Home Ministry to revoke the printing permit of The Rocket.
On the police report lodged by MDP against DAP for false information in an article entitled BN's Many Snake Tactics in the Chinese edition of The Rocket last month, Liu said MDP was merely trying to stop DAP from telling on it.
"We will continue to tell the public what the MDP is about. Such police reports will not stop us," he added.
