============================================================================================================================== Mustapa: BN fulfils promises

PASIR PUTEH: Umno supreme council member Datuk Mustapa Mohamed has urged the people to scrutinise Barisan Nasional's election manifestos to check if the coalition has honoured its promises.

He said that unlike the opposition parties, Barisan had showed throughout its reign that it was responsible and competent and could fulfil all its promises.

"We have a record of fulfilling all our promises to the people. We are not like the opposition parties who make all kinds of promises when the election is near just to win votes.

"They know they have no chance of forming a government, so they can afford to promise everything, including the stars," he said after performing the ground-breaking ceremony for a RM10mil bridge at Cherang Ruku near here yesterday.

Mustapa said the people should also scrutinise Kelantan PAS' manifestos to determine if the party had made good its promises.

"It is plain for all to see that PAS cannot bring any substantial development to the people. It is only good at making promises which it has no intention of keeping," he added.

In Pasir Mas, Kelantan Umno liaison committee chief Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said the people should vote for parties which have proven to be hardworking and effective.

"I returned to Umno because I know it is the only party which is capable of looking after the interest of the Malays," he said at a ceramah at the mini stadium here on Saturday night.

He said that unlike PAS, Umno wanted political power to bring development to the people.
