Call for a Paradigm Shift

From the many times I have debated with pro-government supporters here and in Malaysia I find that over and over again the same answer is blurted out. The majority of them include the noble justification that 'one should not turn against the hand that feeds'. I am also confident that this would also be the main thought of incompetent Malays who still stick on to the already tattered Barisan Nasional coalition propaganda.

Why this mentality? I pray that a brave soul from among the BN sympathisers would be able to answer this question. Although there exists other reasons for them to support BN I find that this is the prime reason, second only to the mediocre 'I have been supporting BN ever since I reached the age of majority' claim. These would be the only ones who would support the BN manifesto and give them (BN) the chance to not fail shamefully in the coming elections. However, I urge them to reconsider.

Admittedly one has to acknowledge that the Prime Minister has played a significant role in bringing us into what Malaysia is known as today. He has deeds towards the country. But this does not, in any way, justify his inexcusable and evil actions - especially in the light of the Anwar case.

The media has been 'transparent' to such an extent that we can observe for ourselves the evil actions of the police, the cowardly Special Branch who hides in shadows, and those ranking officers of the government where we see no end to the 'kissing up phenomenon' to the Prime Minister. The most recent being the Zahid Hamidi 'confession'. It is shameful to see a staggering old man; the Prime Minister, being 'kissed up' like this. The Prime Minister has to add another attribute to 'The Malay Dilemma' which is 'kissing up to superiors in order to attain subsequent grants'.

We have to THINK for ourselves. Weigh the good and the bad and then decide. Malaysians have reached an age where they could calculate and make deductions based on what they experience. A true Malaysian will not waive a wrong just because the wrongdoer has done good before. A TRUE Malaysian WILL be accountable for his actions. When this is achieved, I am confident that the people will start to realise that the Prime Minister's reign MUST stop. In order to limit the already battered image of the Prime Minister, he should step down. He should do so before all the previous achievements and noble deeds be eclipsed by evil and tyranny. Let us all activate a Paradigm Shift, acknowledge and understand what is going on in our beloved country.

One has to learn to make good judgments. Hear both sides of the story. A good example for equality is the foreign media. Foreign media, such as the CNBC and CNN, has consistently brought the viewers with equal views from the government and the opposition. Comments and views are heard and entertained without fear or favour. The Prime Minister's claim that the foreign media has played a role in undermining Malaysia is ridiculous. He is just not well versed with media who are not 100% with the Malaysian government. In Malaysia, publications which are contra-government would be labelled as 'traitors to the nation'. How far-fatched could you be?

In this case, the media industry of Malaysia could adapt the term 'without fear or favour' in their publications, if they are true professionals as claimed.

In regards to the student support for the winds of change, we have to remember that University students are not of those who are ignorant or of immature reasoning capacity. They represent the best of the people in the future. I study in the International Islamic University and I am proud to announce that I am against the government. All students in Malaysia are synonymous in the reformation rhythm. The cream of the country's future intellect stand steadfast to the notion that evil must be brought to justice. We call for a change, We call for REFORMASI!
